Walgreens and Nature Valley...

Today we visited Lakewood church and had an amazing time listening to Inspirational speaker Joel Osteen and enjoyed praise and worship with Israel Houghton. We decided to stay for spanish worship and we were so glad we did....I can't remember the last time I felt God's presence in a worship service like today. Thank you Lord for blessing us with such an amazing experience!

Anyways, on our way back from church we stopped at Walgreens to pick up 20 prints that I got free!!! It was a one day thing last week and I just picked them up today. I saved $3.80!!! Yay!!

I also did the Nature Valley deal that is happening all this month at Wags. I was excited because these are my sons favorite snacks and can be quite pricey. But with this deal I was able to get 15 small packs and 3 Reynolds foils for $1.02 !!! (That's 0.06cents a pack). I bought the 15 coupons on e-bay just for this deal.

This is how I did it:

Trans. #1:

(5) Nature Valley twin packs @ $1.29 each = $6.45

(3) Reynolds Wrap @1.69 each = $5.07

TOTAL: $11.52

- (5) .50 Nature Valley MQ = -2.50

- in ad coupon for Reynolds making them 0.89 cents each X 3 = -2.40

- (3) 1.00 Reynolds MQ = -3.00

So 11.52 - 7.90 coupons = $3.62 but I received a $3.50 RR for buying 5 Nature Valleys!!

So, $3.62 - $3.50 = 0.12 cents!!!

The reynolds ended up paying me .33cents with the overage from the coupons making this transaction less than I expected!!!

TRANS#2

(5) Nature Valley 6.45

minus (5) .50 MQ

Total: $3.95

received another $3.50 RR

TRANS#3

Same as transaction #2!!!

So, I got $24.42 worth of stuff and payed $11.52 but got back $10.50 in RR's = $1.02 for everything!!!

Chocolate dipped strawberies...yummy

Who says Valentines day is the only day to treat yourself to some yummy, classy, ever-so-good tasting chocolate dipped strawberries? NOT ME!!! Lol.

Since the kids are home today celebrating Presidents Day, Suzy and I decided it would be great to make our own chocolate dipped strawberries!!! And we would love to share our home made recipe!

Ingredients:
12 0z. semi-sweet mini chocolate chips (easier to melt)
2 Tbsp. shortening
24 strawberries (washed and dried)
1. Insert Skewer (or toothpick) into the tops of the strawberries
2. In a Pot with simmering hot water stick a large glass bowl on top of pot making sure it doesn't touch the water. Use this to melt the chocolate chips and shortening together, stirring occasionally until smooth!

3. Holding the strawberries by the skewers dip them into the chocolate mixture. Turn them around to make sure chocolate stays on strawberry.

4. Cover a large dish with wax paper and place the strawberry on top removing the skewer carefully.

5. Stick the strawberries in the refrigerator for an hour so the chocolate can harden.6. ENJOY!!!

Old Navy...WOW!!!

A Saturday stop at Old Navy proved profitable for the family. This is what I got...

Originally priced this is over $125.00 worth of clothes...but I found a great way to get all of this for only $12.32...that's right, ALL for just $12.32!! (that's over 90% off!!!)

When you walk into my closest Old Navy they had a table full of Valentine day cards for the kids to color. Well, one of the 4 cards each poster had was a $5 off anything in the store!!! I still don't understand why others were not taking advantage of this coupon but my daughter (only 7 but already knows the importance of coupons!!!) ran to show it to me. Well, without wasting any more time, this is what I got: (I did each separately but there wasn't much line so it was pretty quick with my hubby and 2 kids helping me out)

(3) girl t-shirts orig. $9.50each on sale for $6.00- $5.00 Q = 1.08 each (0.08 tax) (these are their new ones for the new season!!!)

(1) Boy t-shirt orig $9.50 on sale for $6.00 - $5.00 Q = 1.08 (new ones too!!!)

(1) sweater for me orig. $25.00 on clearance for $9.49 - $5 Q = 4.49plus tax = $5.40 (was the most expensive of my buys but well worth it!!)

(1) Slipper boots that I have been wanting for the longest...orig. $19.50, clearanced for $9.99 but whey I got to the cashier she said that it was the wrong price...it was less!!! $6.99 - $5 Q = 1.99 plus tax = $2.15

and the last transaction was to pay for my hubby's pants...Originally $34.99 but clearanced at $12.99 or so we thought. Again, when paying, it rung up only $6.99 and all mens clothes on clearance had an extra 50% off making them only $3.49!!! Obviously it was way less than the $5 coupon so we threw in a ball that was originally $8.50 but on sale for $2!!!

Pants $3.49 + $2 ball = $5.49 - $5 coupon = 0.49 cents!!! (.53 cents with tax!!)

So, there you go!!! Over $125 worth of stuff for only $12.32!!!

I could have done many more transactions but was hungry and my hubby had a coupon given to him personally from an owner of a new Colombian restaurant in Katy for a free Family meal well worth over $22 and they also gave us drinks!!!

Oh happy day for me and my family!! Thank you Lord for your Valentines blessings!! But more than all of this, thank you for Your greatest gift of love, giving us your Son Jesus, our Christ!!

CVS...$0.00 out of pocket!!

Locks of Love...Im so proud of my baby girl!!

Have you ever heard of "Locks Of Love"?
WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?
"Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers."

After reading this my all so giving baby girl decided this was something she wanted to do. She let her hair grow to over 10 inches long and this week-end we went in to get it cut. These are her before and after pictures. Maybe this will encourage someone else to do the same. She is always looking for ways to bless others. She makes me so proud!!

BEFORE
This was at the salon....
Dad was almost crying to see her beautiful hair cut off
And there it is!!! Wow!!! The final product!!!

She ended up loving her new hair. She has gotten so many compliments but the best part of this is that she is blessing a child in need of hair.

CVS

Then we headed over to CVS for my 2nd trip there this week. I will try to post what I got earlier this week at CVS because I am very excited about what I got but I forgot the following deals so today I picked them up!!

(1) Garnier Fructis 2.99 used $1 MQ = $2.00

Paid with $2.oo ECB so $0.00 out of pocket and received $2 in ECB's

Then I got:

(4) Stayfree @4.50 = $18.00 (used 2 BOGO MQ from this week-ends paper)

(1) Band-aid Hello Kitty band-aids = $3.00

Sub-total: $21.00 - 9.00 (MQ) = $12.00

Paid with $4ECBs (my last ones!!!) and paid $8.00 OOP. Ouch, I haven't done that in months!!! It hurt a bit but I got back $10ECB's to get me started once more in this lovely game I love playing!!!

I hope you all did great this week. If you got something cool let me know, leave a comment, it might help someone else!!
